Why is it important to use a licensed and insured contractor?

What types of roofs do you work on?
We primarily specialize in quality, custom home roofing construction and replacement, including shingles
(many different styles and brands), rubber, and custom copper work, over bay windows, ice panels, crickets,
etc. We also specialize in medium sized commercial rubber roofing systems. We meet the highest quality
standards in the industry. We offer a wide range of roofing materials to suit the style and character of the
structure.
How do I select the shingle material and color I want for my roof?
We will bring a range of appropriate shingle samples to your home or business for your selection. We have
extensive experience roofing thousands of fine homes and buildings in the area and have an expert
knowledge of the best shingle choices to guide you. Some customers like to look at manufacturer’s web
sites, but this can be overwhelming and not all types are suitable for the New England climate. We
recommend and most commonly use GAF, Certainteed and Owens Corning brand shingles.
What types of roofing shingles are most commonly used, on new residential roofs?
Most homes today use fiberglass blend shingles. The 30-year warranty “architect style” is the most
commonly used shingle style for quality, style and affordability. These are designed to have the appearance
of a wood-shingled roof. They are available from many different manufacturers.
The next most common shingle is the more standard, old-fashioned 3-tab, shingle design. This has the
traditional flat look, with three slots per shingle. All manufacturers still produce this type of shingle. It has a
25-year warranty with a slightly lower cost per square foot. The installation labor is more involved, so the
final cost comes out to be about the same as a 30–year architectural shingle style.
What roofing materials are available for my special roof?
Besides these common shingles, there is a vast selection of other roofing material available on the market
for your unique roofing project, when the style and character of the home is most critical. Prices of higher-
end designer shingles tend to be more expensive. Some are used like slate or synthetic slate roofing.
Others have 50-year warranties, which are considered a “life-time” warranty. Shingle prices rise with higher
year warranty and wind tolerance ratings. We can help you match or create the unique style you are trying
to achieve.
Do you repair roofs?
We do repair roofs, but his is generally a temporary fix and not guaranteed. Repairs often just buy a
customer time until they can replace the whole roof or at least the problem section. Most of the time old
roofing needs removal to fully understand the origin of the problem.

and recycled into new products. Asphalt shingles are ground and reused to make streets and driveways.
What types of gutters do you offer?
We provide new seamless 5” inch residential aluminum gutters and 6” commercial gutters in many colors.
